A celebration of really, really, really bad web design.
World's Worst Websites

Stinkycheese.com smells like arse!

Stinkycheese.com claims to have clients such as "Intel, Coke, Pink Floyd, Audi USA, plus thousands of others" and provide "High-End Web Site design"! How they got the job I can only guess. What is the statement they are trying to make... look how many cool things we can do with our homepage.

System of a Down

You know, System of a Down is one of my favorite bands, but their official website needs some work. The intro is kind of scary, and I thought one of the basic rules of the internet was "if you're going to have sound, have an off button." It has those fun "catch the navigation buttons!" features, too. There's lots of other iffy features, but that intro page has got to stop. I nearly wet myself...

FargoHomes.com

Wow. Where to begin. Now I know what a site with ADHD looks like.

On the homepage the jumpy 'Search MLS' button is awesome! I also like 400 foot long page design. Great use of spinning clip art but not enough flaming logos.

I love the javascript pop-open windows without the scroll bars or menus. Makes surfing an adventure. The lack of a consistent design lend well to the sense of confusion.

All in all - well done!

KFGO 790 AM Fargo

KFGO is wonderful AM Talk station for the valley with a rich tradition of broadcast excellence. Unfortunately, their new website looks like it was designed as an 8th grade intro to web design project.

P.S. Wow. Where have I seen that In-Concert logo before?

The National Showcaves for Wales

A horribly weird website:

http://www.showcaves.co.uk/pages/showcaves.asp

1. The dripping sound effect makes me want to pee
2. The stalactite navigation is as bizarre as it is maddening
3. Many pages have audio clips reading the text in English or Welsh that play when you roll over them. For fun, move your mouse back and forth rapidly over the flags to hear a cacophony of voices οΎ– with those damn drips in the background.
4. Show someone you really care by sending them a postcard from Bone Cave.
