On The Clock - Minnesota Vikings
Any Vikings fan will more than likely believe that the team needs to improve at QB, WR, and DE, which is all true. One gapping hole that I see when I compare the Vikings pass defense to other teams isn't the fact that their Safteys and Corners aren't getting the job done, it's that their LB don't cover well at all. Last year the Vikings were consistantly giving up 5-10 yard passes over the middle because the LB didn't have good passing instincts. I'm not saying that the Linebacker corps they had last year wasn't very good, because that is just not true, as they did and excellent job stopping the run and pressuring the QB from time to time, and showed more consistancy rushing the QB than the D Ends. I think the key to the Vikings improving their passing defense is to get a MLB who specializes in coverage, or get and over-sized Saftey and drop him down to a spot in the middle of the defense.
