Dallas Jobs Abound

The State of Texas is one of the few that has been home to many cities able to survive - or even thrive - during the current economic recession. Due to state and local success, there are many places to look for Dallas jobs.

Dallas is the third-largest city in Texas with a population of about 1.3 million people. With an economy primarily based on banking, commerce,e telecommunications, computer technology, energy and transportation, World Cities Study Group & Network has rated Dallas as a beta world city.

Texas itself is home to 118 Fortune 500 companies. Of those comapnies, 21 are located in Dallas, making it the third biggest city in terms of Fortune 500 companies, behind only New York City and Houston.

Cheese's, Zales, Fossil, Electronic Data Systems, Frito Lay, Dr Pepper Snapple Group and JCPenney. Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world's largest breast cancer organization, was founded and is headquartered in Dallas.

Dallas also has more shopping centers per capita than any other city in the country, including Highland Park Village, the Dallas Galleria and NorthPark Center, all of which provide needed jobs and are major tourist attractions.

The city is currently the third-most popular destination for business travel in the nation, while the Dallas Convention Center is one of the largest and busiest in America.
