The best local April Fools joke of the day...

But I wish it were actually reality.

The guy who puts out the podcast Danny Does Duluth, who has been very critical of Mayor Don Ness, promised a one-on-one with the mayor that touched on numerous topics, from racism on the city council to Danny's criticisms of his wife (and a story I wrote on her).

"The entire episode is heavy, deep, and quite possibly the most open interview that Don Ness has given since being in the public eye," Danny writes. "On a personal note, I really appreciate the fact that he would take the time to do this with me. All it took was a simple phone call and to me, that is very, very classy and a great way to show that he really cares about his constituants. The mayor is a very intriguing man, and it shows in this very intriguing interview."

Unfortunately, it's just 20 minutes of the Lew Latto show (another Danny target). It's a good April Fools joke, but I really did hope for that Ness interview. I wanted to see how the mayor would respond to one of his most vocal critics as well as to a person not from the local MSM, but a blogger.

In reality, I think Ness probably would grant an interview with Danny -- or at least 10 minutes with him on the Mayor's Night Out.
