I have just created www.fargorealestate.com  So it has no page rank, no inbound links, no searchability.   It is a 'template' website.  The name is good but that's about it.  I will begin to gather data build this site up to be an equal to fargohomes.com I will begin a collection of out bound links - do you want me to add your website to my collection of Favorite Links?  Leave any comment here and email me to dan at fargohomes com

Disaster! Page rank has dropped.

Google has dropped my page rank to 3.  Well all the tweaking made the Fargohomes.com website a lot more eye appealing and user friendly.  It also may have something to do with dropping off the search results with Google.  It went from the top of Page 1 to the bottom of Page 7.   There was very little text left with key words.  So, to start, I am going back to a big page to add some key words.....  However I'm going to try to organize the information to make it usable for anyone who finds it.   Also I have been going through the links that I exchanged and weeding out a lot of dead ones.  That could be part of the problem...

Text to code ratio % 10.88

I discovered my text to code ratio is very low... so I added a little more information on my services offered....which again lengthens the page.... Daily hits have climbed well over 1000.  There are several hits per day from the link at the "Wrlds Wrst Wbsite" article. 

There are assorted colors of fonts...I don't think it looks great but the different colors are supposed to attract the eye to certain phrases. I want the visitors to find what they want as easily as possible....

It seems there are way too many buttons and links.... they all have value so what do I do?  Many are actual search buttons which is the main reason most people are on the website... I may try to arrange the buttons in some drop down menus... but that requires a complete change of template format...  :-(

Cutting down on Useless Links

I had a link to an agent in every state at the bottom of the fargohomes.com home page.  That's about 48 too many. They were rated and ranked among the best.   I culled out all except the Minnesota agent.  His name is Chris Deutsch and I highly recommend him for anyone buying or selling in the twin cities MSP area.   Thus I have taken out a lot of links that no one really cares about.  Also remaining I have a Favorite links page where I have parked all the links that come from agents in other cities all over the country.

Today I reduced the descriptions of my search links and began condensing those important links into a smaller area.
