are you ready for some football !
Hey silverstreak fans and players , i thought that this may be interesting ..its something we have been looking into here... I like to think of it as our sister town or team , in a way ...see when i moved here owe so many eons ago ..it was the silverstreaks that made me feel at home , it was a taste of my youth so to speak .if dionosaurs have a youth that is ... But anyhow i got to chatting with some old friends and new ones back home ,and realized that maybe many of you if your like me and you love high school football may like to listen to my old high school ... i just love football so its right up my alley ... but anyhow this is my old high school The Wilmington Wildcats and my cousin Barry Southhall coaches there and he along with Coach Reents and many others have done an amazing job with this program ,...anyhow they are undefeated as is their oppenant today ,both average over 40 points a game while their stingy defenses allowed less than 7 i think wilmingtons starters have like a 5 point per game average .they have one of the top rated run defenses not allowing any single back to gain over a hundred against them an few teams have even done that ... anyhow it is billed as one of the best match ups in Illinois state football AAA playoffs so it should be a great game ..and i thought maybe some of you might find it neat to listen to ... here is the link

I was utterly blown away when the game began and Pat had the boys come out passing , yes passing and lots of it .. what a plan it had Pierz back on their haunches ...it looked like the boys were going to pull off what many considered and would prove out as an impossible task. But in those opening moments all seemed possible ..the boys were moving the ball and this incrediable team seemed vunerable , a chink in the armor they seemed defeatable just mer boys in helmets and pads not immortal gods of the high school arena known as football ... Man i was stoked my heart was pounding , the boys were doing it ... from the stat girls , cheerleaders all the way to the bench everyone was feeling it , yes the impossible can happen we can do this. Confidence was mounting with each pass , then it happened the inevietable a pick a defensive pick and interception right as we were on the verge of scoring drawing first blood so to speak ... But i still felt we could do it , the kids did , but the crowd well they did to , its just in this rather interesting and nice yet odd field or more of a bowl ... and they call it the Pierz pioneer bowl or something like that ... it virtually takes your crowd right out , you truly become a visitor , and i mean a lonely visitor , becaue the team is totoally seperated by the field form its fans and cheerleaders and band...not a nice place to be when you are in enemy territory facing such a tough enemy where every little but helps ... not here , for here you are truly on your own ...a field that really gives home team an advantage ... even when our crowd was yelling at the top of their lungs trying to push the boys on , pump them up , they were nothing more than a loud whisper ...
Well anyhow here would come the powerful Pierz offense taking the field , their crowd yelling , our crowd well yelling ... it was awesome could the boys do it .Well it didnt take that quick , strong offense of the Pioneers to demonstrate how good they were ,as they made quick use of the turnover , a turnover in any other game that should have been ol since it still gave our defense a lot of real estate to work with , but it would prove not to be as the Pioneers made quick use of this free gift and marched it or literally ran it down and scored .. we were watching an offense unlike any we had really seen or much less played , they were quick , and strong and seemed to break tackles and hit the out side at will picking up 8 yars here there ... they would prove to much for our defense to handle ..How ever there was the one set of downs where the Pioneers had the ball third and goal and we shut then down three straight plays , sure they scored but their newsmedia and many of their fans would latter attest to the fact that no team had been able to do that to them all season long ...so that was a huge bright spot to how tough the Streak defense was allbeit the score of this one didnt say it but they were really tough all season long ... the offense was making some head way passing ,and had some nice runs but tonight it would prove to not be enough ... not for lack of trying sometimes you just come across a team that is just on , and there is not much that can be done and pierz was that team for the Streaks. I still beleive the Streaks were also that darn good this year , though Pierz cut them short ..i really find that any team would have trouble with Pierz , they throw that option at you from the bone and its tough to cover when your not used to it ... Give us a rematch now that we know they are just another team and we know them better and who knows maybe a different game ... i also truly think that had we scored on that opening drive and punched that one home i think it also may have effected our play the rest of the night ,and who knows maybe things could have been different , who knows ... i do know a few things though. 1. I wished they had a few more Ryan petersons he played awesome and his size ,heart and raw determination were alot for the pioneers to play around. He wanted it wanted to play even when the game was down that is heart and a true team player all the way .. i think Ryan really did a great job confounding the offensive line of Pierz... 2. the boys played awesome and gave it thier all but with the crowd all but removoved and the turnover and pierz quick scoring drives seemed just to much ...now maybe i am worng but Pierz didnt seem to have size on us ,,speed maybe but i think we are equally quick , but strength it seemed like Pierz as a team must hit the weights and hit them hard and often , as do all the truly good teams ,,,if you want to jump that hurdle and be a true playoff contender you have to hit the wieghts , be diciplined , listen to your coachs and follow their plan and direction , and be a team player ... The streaks are just about their and these boys got them heading strong in the right direction , they were and are almost there ... what a team , what a season , thanks for all the exciting memories ,,, what a year you all rocked and really did play as a team ... This fan wants to say thanks ...Go Streaks
i look forward to watching you in your other sports and endevors ...
Now send us an email and select the defensive and offensive players of the year , best line men ,back and special teams players , and select an MVP and MIP for the 2009 season ,winners will recieve something from village video and or a framed 8 x 10 picture ... send your candidate and votes to osakis.silverstreaks@gmail.com
or go to face book , osakis silverstreaks
again what a season ...and if any of you players or fans would like to do a one on one interview i would love to hear your take on your season , your best play , fondest memories , or we can look at upcoming games ... just drop me an email
thanks Bill B

Streaks score first round knock out
STREAKS get a round one knock out on the Bulldogs …
It was a beautiful night for football , a little breezy but no rain … The kids ,fans , cheerleaders and both bands were stoked and ready to rock … Both teams featured some awesome music as both had their bands rockin … it was defiantly a playoff atmosphere as you could feel the excitement and electricity in the crisp fall air … This was a rematch of earlier this season … where the Streaks came out on top … OTC was pumped and ready as well , as it would take the Streaks into the second quarter to finally get things rolling in true pound it out Streak fashion , as the Bulldogs would stuff the box in the beginning … But as the Streaks got rolling it opened the lanes up a bit , allowing Dominic Baker to get a few nice play saving rushes and get into the end zone twice as the Streaks would carry a 14-0 lead into the locker room at half time … well not really a locker room so to speak but more like a over sized closet of sorts behind the concession stand … The boys came out looking sharper in the 3rd ,looking more and more like the dominating Streaker team, and Chris the lud train ,powered bumped, banged and sprinted his way over , around the threw the opposing defense , for over 190 plus yards …
The defense looked sharp all night long not giving the bulldogs much to work with … even when the Bulldogs tried to pass against what many perceive as a weakness to the Streaks , the passing game … this was not to be as the Streaks Cole Erie picked off one and they were all over the receivers all night …not making it easy ..there was one troubling pass interference call , that kept a drive alive for the Bulldogs … but it appeared to be a touch type violation as the receiver and the defensive back made apparent contact before the ball arrived and our guy was looking away from the ball … all I could see was that his hand appeared to be resting on the side or hand of the receiver …anyhow the Streaks would make one unbelievable play on a 4th and less than 1 , play when the defense came up huge as the bulldogs went for it and were met with an iron wall of Streak defenders as they stood up the back and pushed him well short of the first turning the ball over on downs … though it seemed insignificant to the game who knows a score right there by the Dogs and maybe they could have turned it around …but doubtful as the Streaks defense was just dominating …and seem to kick it up a notch when needed … it was an interesting game that seen a lot of passing from us .. and a few interesting plays … like the one where Cole Erie made an awesome catch from Devon on the near sideline and then unsuspectingly was blasted by a Bulldog defender on his blind side , knocking the ball lose and into the hands of a fleet handed and sure footed Ben Anderson that swooped in and scooped it up near the end zone setting up a Chris Ludwig touchdown that would lock the game up for the Streaks … Chris would a few plays latter also have a huge run down the side lines , getting the crowd on its feet , they love it when this boy breaks for day light , and boy can he run .,.. reminds me of the old Chad Rodriguez days , like a Bull in china shop or I should say running through the China shop… Go Lud !
Anyhow Ryan Pederson and a host of other Streaks got to get into the action as they busted and blasted the line of the Bulldogs, ending the game in an exciting note …These boys give it their all , and have been a blast to watch … Ryan just pounded his guy a few times off the line breaking to the ball … great job guys … 32-7 ….what a win …
There was one play I wasn’t sure on , It was odd or at least I haven’t seen it before and that was the 12 man on the field after the huddle breaks … I wasn’t aware of that rule ..i thought you had to be off the field before the snap , isn’t that how it works on the defensive side where you typically see kids running in and out at the last second ? I am sure it was a good call I just never heard of it before ,and or seen it called …it wasn’t like we were being sneaky or anything I think it was just some substitution confusion at the last second ..heck its playoff’s and round one the kids are pumped ….
Anyhow all in all a awesome streak victory a little bit in rough in the beginning but once things settled down it was back to Streak football … and again special teams were huge getting great field position and allowing us to operate on a shorter field ..and heck another bonus that Saddlemeyer kid “ Adam “ booted 3 extra points with a lot of pressure coming and this is something they struggled with all season …. It was nice to see them pop a few … one was so close most of us fans thought it was good … anyhow great job … need a little tune up but the engine is revving in the right direction more rpm’s … and more Streak excitement to come as the boys head to Pierz to take on the pioneers….should be an awesome game …kick off is at 7:00 …Saturday …Halloween , so let’s scare the Pioneers with a Streak victory ….candy on Halloween is tasty but a win is pure sweet victory …
We will make are way to Pierz… what can we expect …
They will face a very quick and powerful team , that can dominate the running lanes , with their ball control offense , and quick off the ball hard hitting defense …
There will be a quick powerful offensive line , fast off of the ball , and quick to make blocks , they are quick to pull , they create some huge holes to run through … and are pretty good about floating and spreading the defense out …Then they feature some really outstanding receivers that are quick and have great hands … but the strength of their game is the running attack , where they feature two very quick and powerful running backs , each capable of breaking tackles , running over , around and threw opposing defenses ,switching back and forth between them … stop one they come at you with the other one , and they are capable of breaking one and could go all the way …
If that isn’t bad enough they can opt for the pass ,and although their quarter back is one of the best at handing it off , he can also scamper and throw , has a fairly strong and accurate arm … if he does set up get his feet planted he can really deliver …and that is another bright spot for this offense for they have some really quick ,smart and sure handed receivers , that find a way to get to the ball , and have the ability to break one and score as well …in a few games they have used the air attack to claim sweet victory … I have heard it said that fans wished there was more of a passing from time to time to their end … I have heard it that if the QB pumped faked a time or two , before throwing he could freeze up the defense and allow him more time to fire down field creating further problems for opposing defenses …and opening up the true power of this offense the run…
Now on the defensive side of the ball , you can expect some very fast off the ball line men that will power their way to the ball, anyone of them is capable of making the big stop , and confounding the opposing teams running game , giving their even quicker line backers a chance to step up into the lanes and cut down the running back if he does some how manage to break past the D line …this is a swarming defense capable of making the big stops when needed … and when needed can send the end and further allow his quickness and hard hitting tackling to do its thing and get to the opposing teams back’s including the quarter back …look for him to be coming if the opposing team decides to pass , top this off with some excellent tight pass coverage down field , with the quickness to pick off a pass or two , and you can see why these guys are tough … and so dominating…
Then jump to special teams its here where they have had up’s and downs , but when its on they are spot on and have the ability to pin and opposing teams deep in their end , and also allow them to make some huge returns as well …
This team has scored over 252 regular season points ,and has the ability to win some games …
So with it being Halloween does this team scare you …well it shouldn’t scare you if you’re a Streaker fan but should if you’re a Pioneer fan …. Because this team I described is and can be very tough if they stay disciplined ,averaging over 200 plus yards of offense a game ,and play their kind of game , and this team will ROCK YOU
Heck it shouldn’t be any surprise to us as we have witnessed this well coached and disciplined “TEAM “ all season long ..for its our own Silver Streaks …now as the late great Paul Harvey would say you know the rest of the story
so Saturday look out this should be an awesome game … Don’t worry about how good you think Pierz is , but how good we are … or can be … all we need to do is play Streak football and the rest will pardon the pun run itself …. GO STREAKS !!!
what support , please come on out to Pierz for one heck of a game …
don’t miss out tomorrow come show your support for Osakis’s other dominating team ,and a hint its our girls !!! and they ROCK !
So don’t miss tomorrow night’s volleyball game , as our girls who rock as well take on the Royals here in Osakis in one of the fastest paced games on the hard wood … you won’t want to miss this high spiking , hard digging , fast paced , power surving game as our girls will serve , dig , set and spike their way to victory … what a game what a team …. Good luck girls ….
GO STREAKS !!!
You think football is the only rockin game in town , think again for these girls can play …. Don’t miss it ….

a real haunted house
Are Ghosts real ....my personal experience ...
The Palmer house , Sauk Centre ,Mn ,October 18,2009
do you believe in things that go bump in the night ?
Halloween is fast approaching , and as you can see by all the commercials advertising , costumes and candy , parties , and scary movies , all to prepare us for that one time a year when we are given license to scare and be scared , to have fun and receive candy , well ok maybe if you a kid that is..But heck some of us adults have a big sweet tooth as well … Yes Halloween is almost here , I am so ready , I love scary movies , I love trick or treat , candy , pumpkin pie, owe yes I loves the pie , and the home made pumpkin seeds … love carved pumpkins , the fall leaves crunching as you walk about searching for that perfect house , the perfect candy bar and well yes and a scare or two … I don’t know if you are like me and many of us that find ourselves glued to the set on Wednesday nights turning on the sci fi channel to catch the huge hit reality show of sorts , GHOST HUNTERS , or taps to those that are hooked on the show … taps stands for the Atlantic Paranormal society
“ghost hunters” yes these guys and gals are plumbers by day and ghost hunters at night … They use a real scientific approach to investigating haunted houses … They have as I have watched the show , very skeptically over the years to be frank with you , have come up with some very interesting findings , that make me sit back and say whoa could that be …are ghosts real ? Can a house really be haunted or just dark and eerie looking ? Well I like the member of Taps are skeptics and search for answers , they do not take the findings at face value .. these guys like to debunk the findings to determine is there a natural real world explanation and for about 50-60% of what they find that is the case but it’s that other 40-50 % that leaves me thinking ,hmmm what is it … I know as a Christian growing up , we are not really supposed to support or believe in such things , but I am not sure that is true either as if there are angels , demons and a god that can create a whole universe , should we question whether of not ghosts or the other world can exist ? Does it exist ? If there is Heaven and a Hell that means there is another world , a spirit world so to speak … I have over the years had many bizarre experiences in some strange and believed to be haunted places … Where they ghosts ? were they just my crazy imagination , or my own fear working over time , maybe , maybe not…I do know one thing as a Christian I was encouraged not to believe in them , but as an adult I think this thinking may not be 100% correct and answer the real question with out making the asker feel crazy or like a complete fool .. is there Ghosts ? Do they exist … I think so … am I crazy ? Well if you have met me please do not answer that one … No I believe I am very sain and rationale.
It brings me to a thought that was shared with me on the thoughts of can ghosts be real ..i am going to Para phrase here … but a very awesome and intelligent Christian lady and business owner , wife and mother , shared with me … this little thing that made me think …
What if a ghost is really a person that has passed on unexpectedly and or thought they were a christian person but had done things in their lives they felt ashamed of latter on , and lived with the guilt of it … Like maybe you smoked or drank when you were younger , or you weren’t a faithful person , you lied etc … and you die and you think hey I am not good enough to go to heaven you feel guilty .. what if heaven is like a room ,and when you die your like in a hallway with two doors one for Hell one for Heaven … the door to heaven is open by Jesus and the light so to speak is calling you ..but your own guilt is keeping you from stepping in , though you are forgiven and Jesus paid the way for you … its you action to step in , he cannot do that for you maybe … and maybe your soul was saved while on earth but your own guilt keeps you from walking into that light , into peace and Heaven so you spend your time wandering that hall way trapped between doors , you cannot make up your mind just yet … what if … could that be Abrahams Bosom maybe … I don’t know I am not there yet , only god knows for sure and he has only shared a small portion of knowledge with us .. heck we only use about 12% of our brains … yes only 12 % … so could these be more , sure …anyhow I wasn’t looking to make this a bible lesson , but more of a simple explanation for what could be …
Now to the happening ….
I like so many of you was once a young kid , I grew up in a fairly normal church going family .. I had Aunts , Uncles, sisters, grandpa’s and Grandma’s and a dog or two ..pretty normal mellow life … But I had the one Uncle , you know the one , the crazy one , that sits and relates tall tales of his past life to you , reliving his youth in every word , syllable and sound … your find your self glued ,hanging on his every word ..his stories glow adventure and excitement with a hint of danger and fun … Well in my family this awesome Uncle was my Uncle Hermie … He would sit in his old brown cloth covered chair , slowly working the Marlboro cigarette from hand to ash tray , ash tray to lips , inhaling deeply and slowly releasing its grayish smoke before him ,and in this gray fog he would begin his great ghostly tales … It was these stories that propelled me to seek out stories and adventures of my own ,and those of my cousins and friends as we would explore many unexplored and ghostly dark places over the years of our youth and into our early adult hood… In a small town in rural Illinois called Ritchie , and Some day I will write these tall tales … but for now let me jump forward to me as the old bald man ,where this true life experience began …
Well my Awesome Uncle and his wife Cathy , aunt Cathy were coming up from Illinois to visit us … we had planned some interesting sites to see as it was their first time exploring Minnesota and the Osakis area .
We were stoked and excited at their visit … But we wanted to make it special , since it was a short visit but a few days … So Kelly , my wife and I decided that we knew Uncle Hermie loved telling ,and searching for ghosts when he was younger ,and that he was a faithful watcher of the ghost hunters show , that we would surprise him with a real life ghost hunt of his own , our own … I on many occasions had visited one of our local haunts here in the area long before I realized that it was truly haunted … See I would go there for the food , I love to eat , and the guys I work with would often like to go somewhere different for lunch so we would often find our way to this very old and quaint and interesting historical place ,known to the locals of Sauk Centre as the Sauk Centre house or as its formally called the Palmer house Restaurant and Hotel, the food is awesome and the service great and the atmosphere is really cool especially if you like old structures and history for it abounds in this place … Me I find it tough to get excited eating in the same old hard plastic vinyl covered spinning chairs of the land of the golden arches all the time ..i like adventure so the Palmer house was right up my alley ….Plus I love all the old original furniture and pictures era 1930… very cool …
Anyhow it was one of these so called lunch feasts , that we encountered an odd happening as we heard people talking rather excitedly about how a book shot off the book shelf in the bar and crashed loudly onto the floor , but not until after it shot over the patrons heads first … it was quickly explained away by the shocked eaters as vibrations from a passing semi truck ,and trailer … could that be sure … was it what happened I don’t know but my curiosity was up … so I found myself having lunch in the bar area , and became rather a fixed on the book case ,and while waiting for lunch went and investigated .. There I found not what I searched for , for I didn’t see any ghosts , if that’s what you’re wondering …No but I did find a book ,an interesting book , on haunted historical sites , not any haunted historical sites but of the very ,most haunted sites …in Minnesota… It was these that I found that the very place I was now eating in and had ate in prior too was at the top of the list , there it was in black and white the Palmer House … hum I thought so I began to research and read up on it ..it had my curiosity up … I then would in the months to follow meet up with the actual owner of the place , Kelley Freese , a very knowledgeable and interesting young woman about my age …But before I had that interesting meeting I had asked countless waitresses if they knew of anything ,or had any odd experiences while working there … Plus it helps pass the time when your waiting for the awesome pub burger to arrive or your Hawaiian chicken salad , my personal favorite ,love the cashews … anyhow it was at these pass the time sessions that I quickly learned that there was something defiantly going on there as every one of them had experienced some odd happenings while working there … and many were different , and most of them had frequent experiences … this was a preverbal smorgasbord of activity I thought , worth looking into and that was what brought me to meet the owner Kelley …. She like her workers and friends did not disappoint, and she became an encyclopedia of information , both historical , and para normal … She knows her history and her ghosts . Anyhow my interest was reflected in her desire to have me come and investigate and see for myself … Well we built up a very interesting friendship ,and I find her to be very sincere , open and honest … At that point I even though was skeptical and doubted the presence of ghosts could see her sincerity and that though I may not believe at that time she and her staff and many, many guests sure believed … They even keep a book of all the happenings and sightings …one cannot question their sincerity or their honesty or belief , something is happening here, but what ?
My wife ,daughter Amanda and some of her friends had planned an excursion to visit this historical ghost hotel on the original main street of Sauk Centre on Halloween night 2008 , to be a part of a real para normal investigation , with real scientific equipment .I was pumped what would we uncover , would there be evidence , or would it just simple be another interesting and fun evening with a great meal and a tour ? But tragedy would strike on Halloween and we would have to postpone our trip as one of Amanda’s good friends and class mate Jamie Sear would be taken from us that afternoon in a fluke , car accident at Carlos Corners …. It was very sad and she was such a sweet young lady ,taken way to soon …and we will miss her …
So over the next year we planned to visit and explore the Hotel ,but never had the opportunity that was until I found out my Uncle Hermie and Aunt Cathy were coming up to visit … that was the push I needed … so I contacted Kelley ,and arranged it all … We would go there for lunch ,have some great food catch up on old times ,and when it was done we would take the “TOUR “ … and see what we would find or what would find us …
Uncle Hermie and aunt Cathy had read and watched some show talking about the haunted hotel , so were real excited having lunch in it , but little did they know that more than lunch was instore …for we were about to have an old fashioned ghost hunt ….
Our meal arrived with some funning around with the waitress … and some quick picture ‘s … Then the host arrived … So after we finished our burgers and fries ,and Kelley began telling us the stories of the hotel and its history … she knows her stuff ….we were excited after learning about the little blonde hair green eyed little boy and his oddly colored blue ball , whom is often seen playing in the halls …or the ghostly maid seen often in room 22 …and that was eerily captured in a family photo of the fire place on the second floor , where the reflection of a maid can be seen in the window , reflected in the mirror above the fire place …. Kelley gets personal experiences from guests all the time , some weeks more than others she , non chalantly explains , as she smiling and sips her coffee … yep this place has its share of experiences and ghostly encounters , but would we find any ?
Kelley had us begin our tour in the basement , it’s your typical old dark dank rock basement , you’d expect to find beneath one of the old buildings …but what we found odd and didn’t expect is the cobwebs or lack thereof …there was no cobwebs , even the spiders are afraid of this place … maybe there is a normal explanation , but every basement I have been in that is old dark ,cement floor ,exposed beams ,pipes, wires, and old rock walls has one thing in common , spider webs …. Not here …so ok that gets us started off on an interesting note … Then Kelley explains how her “unregistered guests” , the ghosts were upset because last night was a wedding party at the hotel and some of the guests had snuck down there to these dark recesses partying , and being mischievous and probably stirring up some trouble trying to piss off the permanent residence of this dungeon … So the ghosts were upset … well at the time of her telling us this little bit of added info , it didn’t mean much at the time … heck to be honest I was walking around checking out the building the antiques etc stored here as was the rest of our motley crew , I think we forgot about ghosts and were caught up exploring …. Our motley crew consisted of the Mom in law , Brenda , my lovely wife Kelly , Uncle Hermie , Aunt Cathy , our host Kelley and me the old balding skeptic ,I’m Bill ….
Well we continued to walk around exploring as Kelley narrated the history and of any happenings as we entered each room … These rooms were of and in themselves not really odd , just dark but clear of dirt and cobwebs , like I said earlier , but the doors ,now they were odd ..very odd shaped , and had like 4 dead bolt locks on each side of them … To keep something out , but also to keep something In , odd … but we assumed through Kelley’s, historic telling that it was from the prohibition era and that booze was smuggled in and out of here … so that made sense … But there was the odd shaped room where one of our group , she wanted to be anonymous for fear of embarrassment I suppose , had a really powerful experience that over whelmed her and she had to leave the room … She was over taken with a heavy feeling of sadness and despair to the point she was beginning to cry …she felt a strong presence and that something was very sad her and didn’t want us there , she left the room and the feelings left as well …now normally I would say yea right , but I personally know the person and they are very level headed and skeptical of this stuff … but now I found them to be scared , and they were very hesitant the rest of our visit here …
Anyhow we toured the rest of the basement , with no other apparent activity , just lots of interesting stuff … it’s here where I will add another interesting note … it is quiet in the basement even with the restaurant upstairs you don’t hear a lot of the noise its very muffled … so if you did get an EVP (Electronic voice phenomenon a voice that is not of the speaking people heard on voice recorders believed to be from the beyond) reading I would be more believing of it … me I forgot my dang recorder so that will have to be my next trip here , owe and I will be back because as you will soon here or read , if you aren’t already believing I think the place is truly haunted and I don’t need a gizmo to tell me that ,but it would add creditability to what I have told you thus far if you haven’t fallen asleep yet ,and what I am about to tell you .
Anyhow Kelley exclaimed we have one last small room and the basement tour is complete … with that she adds that this room often has a lot of various activity , but wasn’t sure if we would experience anything , but wanted to let us know … Well me I was still searching and looking amongst the old pictures she had down here and hadn’t heard her , I was transfixed on this old metal picture of Jesus etched in steel , really neat …anyhow I quickly snapped a picture of it and caught up with the group in the last and final room of the basement ,and what would prove to be the most haunted for me and mom…
Well we walked in ,it’s a small room where they stuff etc ..nothing special , except these odd stairs that Uncle Hemrie discovered , that were in the North corner of the room ,and went up …Up to nothing …up to the closed in floor , must of at one time lead outside … anyhow he was transfixed on it , and found a deep hole under it ,and began questioning Kelley about the hole , and as she explained the story of the ghostly bones found there by her and how they had vanished … everyone was glued to her , except me and mom … We were at the other end of the small room looking around , and that was when it began ..we began to feel like our heads were swimming , sort of light headed yet not ..hard to explain … your head felt free … the room started to feel like it was sloping a bit … then it quit… then our hands began to feel heavy ,and felt swollen and tingly ….Then mom looked at me sort of odd like , well that’s normal for mom I guess …lol she was freaked she kept talking about her hands , they felt swollen or like some one was squeezing them a pressure … then she said she had to sit down the room felt heavy …. Heavy is right ..i looked at her and was blown away for that was exactly what I was feeling … then the air got really heavy , like a pressure against you , all around you … not asmatic but like the air was weighted down ..i too sat down and felt a cold draft in a windless warm room the air got cold around us …we sat starring around in utter shock … everyone by this time was looking at us … like they knew something odd was happening … I mean I am odd but this was even abnormal for me …. That was when Kelley asked if we were ok … we both at the same time were like whoa the air is very heavy … this feeling lasted about 5 minutes or so ..i got up left the room to see if maybe the room was causing it , you know a reaction to magnetic fields of something …but the feeling left as I left … but not before that cold spot brushed me …. I reentered the room but nothing all was normal… the feeling was gone … as was the ghost is my thought …. What happened ? was it a ghost , was it indigestion , magnetic field reaction , was it being to close to the mom in law ? No I think it really was ghostly ,and I think they were upset … the feeling I had when I had the encounter was like one of agitation , frustration ..it was weird how a sea of emotions over whelm you out of the blue like that , with no preconceptions , none … so if you ask me I would say yes Virginia there is a ghost or two here …. The rest of our tour was uneventful ,nice suites though and I would recommend staying here , the rooms are awesome and new , the food great the staff great , would be a great place to stay if you don’t mind the unseen roommates that roam the building here … I can’t wait to go back ..
Well Uncle Hermie and Aunt Cathy the ones I really hoped would have had a true ghost experience to cap off their visit , came up empty … well there was the odd red scratch like mark on Uncle Hermie’s ear , and how did it get there no one knows ….could it be ghost or well maybe he banged his head on a wall or something …who knows only the next visit will tell …and I am defiantly going back , next time with some equipment … and who knows maybe Uncle Hermie and Aunt Cathy will return for round two and get a ghostly knock out ..
Anyhow if your looking for a real haunted adventure , seek out the Palmer House in Sauk centre you won’t be disappointed , and heck the food is awesome to say the least …but its not what on your tray that scares you but what might deliver it ….BOOOOOO
Seriously though it is an awesome place ,and ghosts I feel abound here … but don’t take my word for it come see for your self …

Giant Pumpkins and Ghosts Happy Halloween
Below i am going to share some interesting fall happenings and a very interesting personal experience i had in a very real , haunted house ...
first the fall happenings , have to build up to the real haunted house story ...
Hey as you can tell by our rather strange weather that fall is here , gone or somewhere in between , but it means that Halloween is coming up quick .. It’s always been a fun time of year for me .It’s fall so you have all the awesome leaves filling the landscape with bright vibrant colors of gold, yellow, red, green, brown, and various hues in between ..The air is usually crisp and still barring some warmth of summer, not yet giving up its grip to the long cold that awaits it. The animal activity is huge as they are all moving about preparing for winter.. And its fall sports season again which means football, volleyball and tennis what more could one ask for … Well all the kids dressing up and having fun , running around being mischievous , being kids , scaring each other , and getting candy …Halloween also means , pumpkins which mean pie and pumpkin seeds , and corn mazes, hay rack rides , haunted houses , and ghosts …. Things that go bump in the night …
Now before I get into the bumping in the night stuff … I will take a few moments to thank the winners of the 2009 Giant Pumpkin contest held out at one of our local farms … Where a local man and his family have put together a very fun and interesting place for the whole family to come on out and enjoy the season down on the old fashion farm .. The local man is Dave Erickson , many of you have seen his petting zoo in town , or had a ride on his wagon during one of the Osakis festivals , or enjoyed a good pork chop sandwich from him ..ummm ummm good … love those things … Anyhow every year around this time Dave hoists a giant pumpkin contest , where many local growers come on out and do battle over whom has the biggest pumpkins in the area … Many of these competitors , come from all over the state …it’s a good old fashion family fun day … they come out to do the old gourd battle of the preverbal pumpkin bulge . To see whom is the largest of all … Then they spend the day with the many other patrons touring the farm , petting the many animals in the petting zoo area .. Where you can see a real up close and personal Turkins , a strange mix of turkey and chicken , really interesting … I thought I was in a prehistoric hen house there for a few moments as a stared at these odd but interesting creatures ..He has these amongst many ,many other birds , goats, sheep , ponies, deer, lama’s alpaca’s, to name a few and then there is the cat and the puppy , what a hoot … but you can spend the day , the kids can ride the ponies , play with the animals , play in the play ground area , or try you detective hand at the corn maze and hopefully find your way out … I had a blast , and had no idea that so much fun and family entertainment resided so close to me here in the rural Osakis area off Hope road … Anyhow if you get a chance be sure to grab your friends and your family and head on out there for some great family fun … and next year be sure not to miss the giant pumpkin contest … its some huge fun ,litterly .. these pumpkins are huge , they take pickups and trailers to bring them here … anyhow below is the winners of the contest ….for 2009
